What is Wordy Affairs Teaching Philosophy?

Wordy Affairs teaching philosophy is based upon the student-centered approach to learning. We teach all four language skills (reading, speaking, listening and writing) in the context of student’s everyday work and personal lives. Every lesson touches on vocabulary and pronunciation to ensure that our students are learning in a 360 way. Thus, no one skill will be left behind.

What levels are available?

Our focus is on Business English and we cover all levels of skill competency from Beginner to Advanced/Proficient. If you want to learn more details on each level, view here.

What learning materials are used?

All materials are uniquely created by our consultants to align with CEFR/ACTFL standards. However, we approach our lessons with a significant amount of speaking because anyone can do worksheets on their own.

Who are the teachers?

They are professional, knowledgeable experienced native-speaking teachers with a minimum of English language certification. We take pride in showcasing their backgrounds with enough information to convince you that you are in the right teaching environment.

Are all classes taught online?

Our teachers will discuss the suitability and practicality of doing online and/or offline classes with you. It is a mutually shared agreement between you and our teacher based upon what will serve you best.

Do I have to complete the Learner Profile Questionnaire?

We believe that the more we know about you, the better we can take you on the best trajectory of learning that suits your needs. We have found that often times, what a student wants doesn’t always match with what he or she needs. Completing this questionnaire helps us to assess this gap and develop a plan to narrow or eliminate it. If you have big goals in your work life, then this is the best path for us to take you there.

Why should I learn with Wordy Affairs and not other platforms or schools?

How does class scheduling work?

Your consultant will make his or her calendar available for you to decide the days and times which suit you.

What technology (software & hardware) do I need?

If you have agreed to take online classes with our consultants, you will need a reliable high speed internet connection, high quality headset, and camera.

How long will it take to improve my language skills?

Many people do not realize this, but English is much easier to learn than most other languages despite some of its rules and pronunciation. With regular English lessons that focus on conversation, you can quickly start having basic conversations. If you want to be fluent, you’ll need between 600-750 hours of 1-on-1 English tutoring with a Wordy Affairs consultant and self-study.

How will I know how I am progressing?

Wordy Affairs will reward you with your hard-earned certificate for each CEFR level that you complete. Our certificates are issued in accordance with CEFR and are accepted by many institutions worldwide.

How many people speak English worldwide?

How many countries speak English?

There are 67 countries around the world where English is the official language, and it is a regional language in 27 other countries.

Does Wordy Affairs offer trial lessons?

Yes, each instructor will offer one (1) free lesson so that you can see if the chemistry and style of teaching suit you.

Can I cancel my package and get a refund?

What if I miss a class?

You will be able to cancel a class upon 24 hours’ notice directly to your consultant in writing! Any class cancellations inside of 24 hours’ notice will be considered taken.
